Beet sandwiches can be served hot or cold and can be combined in many ways to add your favourite ingredients: fish, meat or cheese. The recipe includes toast with smoked cheese, Parma ham and roasted sunflower. They taste best served with balsamic sauce and a light salad.
Beetroot is a wonderful blood-forming agent, long recognised by natural medicine. It prevents anaemia and, according to research, supports the treatment of leukemia. Dyestuffs contained in beet are very strong antioxidants and increase the absorption of oxygen by cells.
- 2 slices of your favorite bread
- 1 cooked beet
- 4 thick slices of yellow smoked cheese
- 4 slices of Parma ham
- sunflower seeds (roasted)
- salt and pepper
Ingredients for sauce:
- teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
- teaspoon of honey
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- salt, pepper
Prepare sandwiches without applying the top layer of bread. Bake in the oven until the cheese starts to dissolve. Fold the toasts and mix the ingredients of the sauce.
